Evoke Game Runner

EVOKE was a ten-week crash course in changing the world that ran from March 3 to May 12, 2010.  Designed by Jane McGonigal and sponsored by The World Bank Institute, the goal of this social network game was to help empower young people all over the world, and especially young people in Africa, to come up with creative solutions to the world’s most urgent social problems. And during this period, more than 19,000 agents from over 150 countries did that as worked together to successfully to complete more than 30,000 world-changing missions and quests, and included over 300 blog posts a day.

As a game runner, it was my job to review “mission evidence”, moderate discussions, help answer other players’ questions, and play the game. For my efforts, I was about to attend the Evoke Summit in Washington, DC in September 2010.

The Evoke Network will be re-opened to teachers and students during the spring of 2011 and I am currently acting as the game moderator during this period.
